Common Admission to Six New IIMs

The six new IIMs at Kashipur, Ranchi, Raipur, Rohtak, Trichy, and Udaipur, are conducting the Common Personal Interview and Written Analysis Test ("PI & WAT") Process for their Post-Graduate Programmes in Management for the 2015-17 Batch as follows :

• Each of the six new IIMs has individually prepared shortlists based on their respective criteria. The combined shortlist of candidates to be considered for further processing was thereafter prepared by the coordinating IIM, namely IIM Udaipur.
• From the combined shortlist, candidates who are also called for interviews by IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, and IIM Kozhikode ("older IIMs") will be set aside. The remaining candidates will be called for a Personal Interview & Written Analysis Test ("PI & WAT") which will be common for the six new IIMs.
• The PI & WAT scores for candidates set aside from the combined shortlist will be obtained from the respective older IIMs from which such candidates have received interview calls. Those who have been called for WAT and PI by more than one older IIM will have the PI & WAT scores received from all applicable older IIMs averaged for further processing.
• The status of the shortlist is available on the Common Admission website www.iimudaipur.ac.in/6iims_admissions.
• Each of the six new IIMs mentioned above will take the PI & WAT scores of the candidates shortlisted by them from IIM Udaipur. They will then, in accordance with their respective admission policies, consider these scores along with scores for other criteria such as CAT score, Profile score, etc. to make their respective merit lists. They will thereafter make their respective admission offers to the candidates.

Admission to IIM Ranchi will be based on the performance of candidates in the CAT, Personal Interview & Written Ability Test (PI & WAT) and also based on their profile. The PI & WAT process will be common to all the six new IIMs, namely, Ranchi, Rohtak, Raipur, Tiruchirappalli, Udaipur and Kashipur. The cut-off CAT percentiles, weightage for different components and the profile scoring method are given below -

• Initial Short-listing for PI & WAT Process :
  An initial shortlist shall be prepared of candidates who would be eligible for WAT / PI process for admission to the PGDM 2015-17 batch of IIM Ranchi. This list would be purely based on CAT performance and is expected to be announced around mid-January 2015. The cut-off percentile CAT scores for consideration for admission to IIM Ranchi is given in Table 1 below.

  It must be noted that every eligible candidate as per Table 1, may or may not find a place in the short-list. The above cut-off percentile figures are just indicative and actual CAT percentile cut-offs are expected to be close to the cut-off for previous years. The shortlisted candidates of all the six new IIMs will be merged to make a combined short-list for further processing.
  
  The criteria given in Table 1 will be used to rank the students in different categories (General, NC-OBC, SC, ST and PWD) and for shortlisting of candidates based on ranking within categories for further processing.
• PI & WAT Process :
  Personal interviews and written ability test are planned to be conducted at five different centres namely Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore. The exact dates for PI & WAT will be communicated to shortlisted candidates in due course of time.
  The common PI & WAT for the six new IIMs will be coordinated by IIM Udaipur.
• Final Admissions 2015 :
  After the PI & WAT process is over, admission offers would be announced on the basis of a merit list. This consolidated merit list (CML) would be compiled on the basis of following components and their corresponding weights :

  • CAT Percentile
    30 percent weightage is assigned to the CAT score of the candidates who are eligible for PI & WAT.
  • PI & WAT Score
    PI & WAT scores of the eligible candidates of the six new IIMs will be directly collected from IIM Calcutta, IIM Lucknow, IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode. Only the rest of the candidates need to appear for the Common Personal interview and Written Ability Test of the six new IIMs.
